Moffat View SAPS Reaction Unit receives new vehicle for crime-fighting efforts

The Toyota Corolla Cross was handed over to the five-member team in recognition of its commitment to combating drug-related crime and tracking down wanted suspects.

The Moffat View SAPS Reaction Unit Visible Policing team received a new Toyota Corolla Cross on October 26 in recognition of its hard work and commitment to fighting crime in the precinct.

Station commander Colonel Shunny Govender handed over the vehicle to the five-member team as a token of appreciation for its contribution to crime prevention and law enforcement in the area.

Govender said the team had achieved numerous successes through its ongoing efforts to combat crime.

He thanked the members for their relentless work, adding that the team comprises unit commander Sergeant Mogale, Sergeant Lekoatsima, Constable Bojabotshega, Constable Madisha and Constable Maphepha.

“They specialise in combating drug-related crime and tracking down wanted and known suspects in the area,” he said.

Operational support

The new vehicle is expected to support the team’s operational duties and strengthen visible policing, enabling officers to respond more effectively to crime-related incidents within the precinct.

The handover was also attended by visible policing commander Lieutenant Colonel Narainen, detective commander Lieutenant Colonel Mafukama, and Officer Mavuso from Social Crime Prevention.

The recognition highlights the station’s appreciation for officers who continue to work to create a safer community through proactive policing and crime prevention initiatives.
