EFC 54 at Sun CityIt’s fight week

First ever EFC Gym in Sandhurst, Sandton opened it's doors on Saturday.

FORMER two-time champion Andrew van Zyl steps in at late notice to take on the Zimbabwean Elvis Moyo for the vacant EFC heavyweight championship at Sun City on Saturday (October 15).

Also at Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) 54, history will be made when the first EFC women’s champion is crowned.

For that inaugural women`s flyweight championship title, Johannesburg`s undefeated Shana Power takes on Durban`s destructive Amanda Lino. Tactician Powers looks to continue her unbeaten record, while Lino has a reputation as a wrecking machine.

In another bout, Johannesburg’s JP Buys will be a man determined on revenge, as he seeks to balance their history against the victor in his only ever loss: Durban`s Baldwin Mdlalose. This time the interim flyweight championship is on the line.

A bout just ahead of the three title fights, sees the return of former welterweight champion, the Irish Nigerian Henry Fadipe – a man hell-bent on reclaiming his EFC belt. The only man willing to enter the Hexagon to face Fadipe, is DRC’s Bruno Mukulu; and a war is what he wants to bring!

Set to open the main card with a bang, two behemoth heavyweights will collide when rising super star Wessel Mostert faces his biggest challenge yet: Cameroon’s Nico Yamdjie.

Prelim bouts start 16:00; main card bouts start at 19:00.
