Drivers ready to rock at Gymkhana Grid
Inernational drivers are making their way to the Gymkhana Grid
INTERNATIONAL drivers are making their way to the Gymkhana Grid battle which will feature at Carnival City from November 18 to 19.
The event has attracted a multitude of global contenders that aim to dethrone current champions in the Rear Wheel and All Wheel categories. A large competitive contingent representing South Africa is also on the cards and locals are ever keen to bring on the skid.
Other big names like Monster Energy’s Riku Tahko, the Finnish born competitor, will certainly rev up the competition especially in the All-Wheel Drive class.

Whether it’s on ice, dirt, asphalt or gravel, 32-year-old Finnish racer Riku Tahko shreds hard. Growing up in the small town of Porvoo, just outside Helsinki in Finland, it was pretty clear from the outset which way Tahko’s career would be headed. From an early age he was ripping it up in go-karts and cross-karts, until he was old enough to graduate to full-blown rally machinery. At age 19 he won the Finnish junior national rally championship and then the very next season was selected as the best newcomer when he competed in the Finnish leg of the World Rally Championship.
This season he will be competing behind the wheel of his 600bhp Mini Suomi supercar. He is a seasoned contender in this unique format of racing, boasting wins and experience in both rear wheel and all-wheel-drive categories. In addition to his talent in the cockpit, he is also an experienced driver coach and motor sport commentator, and has organised Finland’s first-ever gymkhana competition.
The #AutoCicus will certainly make for a weekend of all-out family motortainment. If you are one for ultimate tyre slaying and getting your adrenaline glands to switch on, then #AutoCircus is for you.
