Celebrating Warren ‘The Brave’ le Roux

Pay tribute to the long-serving Warren ‘The Brave’ le Roux at Rodizios.

A special night to celebrate the long-serving Warren ‘The Brave’ le Roux at Rodizio will take place on March 26.

Le Roux was a manager for twelve years and he is a professional boxer too. To underline his commitment to boxing, a white collar boxing evening will be hosted at Rodizio in Bedfordview.

On the fight card we have Grant Esterhuizen, the popular dancer of the venue. John Hill, Natacha Zietsman, Delano Human, the giant of a man Rhett Sham, Kalpesh Ranchhod, Damien Quincy, Spencer Pope and Steven Chetoa. The fight night card includes eight fights.

Two highlights on the night are the In’t Veld twin boys, Connor and Danny, of seven years who will display their hyper skills and then the Coup de Grasse is the third fight between Anton Gilmore and his rival from 21 years ago, Cassius Baloyi.

This marks the 21st anniversary of their historic fight where, for the first time, two South Africans fought against each other for the world title and Gilmore broke the champ, Baloyi’s, jaw but never managed to get the win. The two former boxers have become good friends and both work as trainers.

Anton Gilmore works at a project called Fight with Insight where they mentor and rehabilitate children from the inner city and use boxing as a means to help autistic kids, Tara-based children with mental conditions and Talisman for mentally affected males. The project was nominated for the project of the year at the Boxing South Africa Awards. Baloyi works with children in the Alexander township and is a personal trainer in Sandton. He is the former six-time world champion in four different weight divisions and the most capped in South Africa, even going to the Olympics.

Tickets for the night can be garnered from Warren le Roux 076 586 7612 and Anton Gilmore 083 653 0190.
