SOUTH Side Football Club was crowned u-12 Eastern League champions for 2019 after taking a good stand on a log table.

The La Rochelle-based club, which is known in its area for winning because of their fast and skilful midfielders, took the championship with 49 points.

The squad has players stemming from other suburbs like Lawley, South Hills, Regents Park and Bellavista.

According to coach Natalia Bedderson, these tournaments are meant to shape the players for the league games and instil a competitive mindset.

“I’m proud of these boys. Next year, we will be starting the league with the aim of defending it and winning more trophies,’’ said Bedderson.
