The club, located on the corner of Dan Jacobs Street and Bosworth Street in Alrode, was established in 1980.

Alrode BMX Club holds the title of being the oldest standing BMX club in South Africa, with an impressive track record of producing the most South African Olympian BMX riders.

Foundation and growth

What began as a shared passion for BMX racing among a group of enthusiasts has evolved into a powerhouse within the South African BMX community. Fueled by dedication and community support, Alrode BMX Club has transformed over the years into a state-of-the-art BMX haven.

A crowning achievement for the club is its significant contribution to the Olympic stage. Three BMX riders, products of Alrode BMX Club, have represented South Africa in the Olympic Games.

Two-time Olympians Sifiso Nhlapo, Kyle Dodd and Alex Limberg have not only brought glory to their country but have also inspired countless aspiring riders to pursue their dreams in the exhilarating world of BMX racing.
