Alberton Badminton Club hosts thrilling Open Championship tournament

The sport continues to grow in Joburg south.

The Alberton Badminton Club recently hosted the Badminton South Africa U19 and U15 Open Championship, which took place from January 23 to 25.

The tournament drew players from across the country, including KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape, Free State, Northern Gauteng and Eastern Gauteng.

Jozi players impressed by appearing in seven of the finals at the tournament.

U15s:

• Boys Singles: Charltin Dednam (FS)

• Girls Singles: Yutong Ren (NG)

• Boys Doubles: Kevin Chen (JOZI) and Charltin Dednam (FS)

• Girls Doubles: Abby Li (JOZI) and Yutong Ren (NG)

• Mixed Doubles: Charltin Dednam and Yutong Ren(NG)
