Mission 96 children get a treat

Barloworld Head Office Logistics spoils Mission 96's children spoiled.

BARLOWORLD Head Office logistics in Sandton spoilt the children from Mission 96 with food, clothing and sanitary essentials on Saturday, September 3.

Maserame Mabuye and Moipone Sebotsa from Barloworld decided to share information about the organisation with their colleagues so they could help by donating some of the essentials the organisation needs to keep going.

On this particular day, Barloworld decided to visit the home and have a fun day with the children and learn about them and their experiences. Maserame said their plan is to be a regular sponsor of the home as that will help maintain Mission 96.

“We want to help and we aim for sustainability. We worked very hard with my colleagues doing all the shopping to prepare for this day. I slept for only a few hours because of the excitement from the anticipation of this day. We are also going to paint this organisation’s crèche, redecorate the place and plant vegetables,” said a proud Maserame.

Mission 96 is a non-profit organisation that has been operational in the South of Johannesburg for over 16 years and has a home in Ferreira Street, Turffontein. The organisation is lead by the founding sisters, Rose and Paula Kuscus. With the help of other staff members they make sure they teach children about the word of God from an early age, and provide food for the children and adults through the organisation’s feeding scheme.

Mission 96 also provides the community with free counselling to all those locals who find themselves in need of such a service. It also helps the homeless in the South by providing food and a place to bathe.

Rose and Paula were very grateful to Barloworld and appreciated every little thing they did for Mission 96.
