First solo album for Quilala

Quilala also serves as a worship pastor for Jesus Culture Church

CHRIS Quilala, who has been a central part of Jesus Culture for the last decade as one of the founding worship leaders, is now humbled to present his first solo album, Split the Sky.

Jesus Culture has recorded 13 live worship albums, selling over a million albums and impacting lives around the world. He is most well-known for songs such as Your Love Never Fails and Fierce.

His first solo album is somewhat of a departure from the previous live albums he has been a part of with Jesus Culture. On this studio album, Chris musically explores the indie-pop side of his musical tastes, while lyrically focusing on a contemplative expression of encountering God’s love. Quilala ventures into a new realm of worship music influenced by retro pop, futuristic soundscapes and big synth melodies.

Leading up to this release, Quilala has released unique music videos from the album including the below After My Heart, which influenced the album’s title as well as multiple acoustic videos such as Won My Heart. Woven together with intention, each song carries themes of hope, encounter and the Father’s deep desire to be in relationship with us, all with a fresh expression of worship.

Quilala also serves as a worship pastor for Jesus Culture Church in Sacramento, California. He has been involved in Jesus Culture since it was founded and is an integral part of the leadership team.

Quilala is a talented and anointed worship leader and musician with a love for the presence and power of God. He has a heart to write songs that will bring freedom and strength to the local church. Chris and his wife, Alyssa, have four children – Ella, Aria, Jethro (born December 3, 2014 and is living in heaven) and their newest addition, Liv.
