Fire destroys everything family owns
Support local family who lost everything due to house fire.

A family of five, including a pregnant woman, is left with nothing after their house situated at 36 Marthinus Oosthuizen Avenue in Alberton North burnt down on August 31.
Residents and organisations like the HELP Forum and churches are now taking hands to help the family with what they need. They have lived in the house for more than 12 years.
Nothing left
All the family have are the clothes they wore on the day.
The pregnant woman, Redite Camur (23), who is carrying a boy is due in the next few weeks. She lost all her baby clothes and goods.
“The fire destroyed everything we bought for him,” she said.
Tyrone van der Merwe, sales manager from CPS Security, said no one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported in the incident.
“We managed to get the two dogs out of the yard safely,” he said.
According to reports on the scene, a veld fire set the lapa alight and spread to the house. All services including three fire trucks were on scene.
How you can help
According to the homeowner, Solly Yeglet, they do not have any insurance and will have to rebuild the house piece by piece.
The family is in need of baby clothes, baby blankets, baby products, a stroller, baby cot, adult clothes, linen, furniture, kitchen appliances, toiletries, bedding sets, blankets, towels, dinner set and cutlery.
“We are left with nothing and will appreciate anything,” said Solly.
He said people can drop off donations at 36 Marthinus Oosthuizen Avenue as they are now living in the flat or contact him on 068 129 3727 for other arrangements.
Thankful
“Thank you to the community of Alberton for all the help and support we received so far. Thank you and God bless you.”
