The market is much more than a collection of stalls and more of an outdoor supermarket with something for all. The market mixes food, entertainment and proximity with a retro-chic style to celebrate the history of the region. The official opening of the farmers’ market takes place at the end of September. Now open on Saturdays and Sundays. Make your way to Modderfontein Farmers’ Market and enjoy loads of farm fresh goodness with a wide range of delicious food prepared on site to choose from.
20 and 24 Experience Melville Koppies and discover the footsteps of our ancestors. Although there are no guided tours, you will get a map at the entrance for a self-guided tour to discover things like an early San/Bushman settlement with views to Magaliesberg and the blasthole from the 1880s left behind in the Geldenhuys brothers’ quest to discover gold. Make sure to pre-book. Cost is R80 for adults and R40 for children for these self guided tours on September 20 and 24. To book or for more details, send an email wendydavid@mweb.co.za or phone 011 482 4797.
