Suspects arrested for business break-in and theft

The suspect was serving another sentence when he was convicted.

A break-in and theft suspect was sentenced to seven years in prison on April 30.

On July 13, 2013, at about 3.45pm the complainant was in business premises on Kindon Road, Robertsham, when he heard footsteps on the ground floor of the building.

The complainant went to check and found an unknown male on the premises. The complainant asked the person what he was doing there; he said he came to change the cartridges. The complainant was not aware of this and called the police. The suspect was detained and charged for a business break-in with the intent to steal.

The docket was given to Sgt Edmond Rangwanasha to investigate and obtain all the relevant outstanding information for the docket.
On April 30 the suspect was found guilty and sentenced to seven years’ direct imprisonment. Five years of this sentence is to run concurrently in terms of the current sentence the accused is serving. The accused is also unfit to possess a firearm.
