Taxi rollover leaves one dead, 10 injured in Nasrec
The 10 other patients who got injured were taken to hospital.
One person was killed and 10 others injured when a taxi rolled on the N17 in Nasrec on June 15.
ER24 paramedics and several other services arrived on the scene at 08:30 to find the taxi lying on its side in the emergency lane.
Communications officer from ER24, Russel Meiring, said one person was found lying trapped underneath the taxi, while several others were found seated on the side of the road.
“Medics quickly assessed the patients and found that the man trapped beneath the taxi had already succumbed to his multiple injuries. Nothing could be done for him. The 10 other patients were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.
“The patients were treated and thereafter transported by various services to nearby hospitals for further care,” he said.
