Two people were killed and two others were transported to hospital following a suspected taxi-related shooting on Boundary Road in Oakdene on August 3.

The scene remains active as Moffat View SAPS and forensic investigators continue processing the area.

Multiple emergency services, including Netcare 911, ER24, CPS Security and other private security companies, responded to the incident.

Police have cordoned off sections of Boundary Road while investigations continue. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes as emergency personnel remain on scene.

Moffat View SAPS Station Commander Colonel Shunny Govender confirmed that the shooting is believed to be taxi-related.

“The incident is believed to be taxi-related. Two people were declared dead at the scene, while two injured victims were transported to hospital. Investigations are ongoing,” said Govender.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation, and no arrests had been made at the time of publication.

SAPS said further information will be released as it becomes available.
