HELP make the dream of less fortunate children come true.
Some 2,500 less privileged children from in and around the city, including the Bluff, will be treated to an interactive day of fun, treats, games and pampering in the company of sports stars and entertainment celebrities at the fourth IBV Children’s VIP Day at Durban Exhibition Centre on Sunday, 20 October.
The organisers appeal to corporate, civic organisations, service providers, small businesses and individuals to lend their weight to this innovative event to add value to the day, but to also look at forming lasting partnerships with children’s organisations and homes.
“Since its inception, the essential purpose of this day has been to make a large number of underprivileged children VIP’s for a day while business leaders play as reversal of roles as their executive helpers,” said IBV CEO Ashok Sewnarain. “This is a ‘cash-less’ initiative with the platform made available for to partner with us on this magnanimous venture. As a partner, you will create for yourself an opportunity to see the elated faces of joy while provide whatever possible to help realise the dreams of those less fortunate than ourselves. It is as simple as you wanting to give out balloons to 100, 500 or perhaps all the children. You could set up a candy floss machine or jumping castle, have a hot dog stand or provide an entertainer for the day,” said Sewnarain.
The organisers are looking for partners to support with giveaways on the day in the form of tog bags; clothing; maths sets; calculators; stationery; books; toiletries; sweets and games. They are also looking for partners to support the event with transport, food and beverages, entertainment and activities.
The line-up offers fun and excitement for 2500 teens and pre-teens who live in children’s homes and places of safety. They get a chance to meet some of their heroes from the sports field, stage and screen; participate in games and challenges; paint, eat, play, sing and create for a full day, while being supervised, served and assisted by executives who donate their time and skills to this worthy cause.
