Your vote still matters, says The Bluff pensioner

Dawn Solomon from The Bluff hopes that the elected councillor will represent the community by meeting everyone’s needs regardless of status.

THE Bluff’s Dawn Solomon has been to every election poll to cast her vote and advocate for change.

She believes that while it may feel like you are just a drop in the ocean when it comes to making a change, it still is your democratic duty to do, and every vote carries weight. Another reason that keeps Solomon coming back to the polls is the hope of a better South Africa and community.

“We need someone who will represent our nation and our country and not line their own pockets. We need someone who will work with and for our community and project major upliftment in the suburb to restore our community to its former glory,” she said.

Caring for everyone

Solomon added that the elected councillor should not only be able to meet her needs and wants, but those of the community as well. She believes this can be done through electing honest leaders and getting rid of any corrupt party.

“I hope for a safer South Africa that we can enjoy without fearing for our lives. Housing for the needy, education that actually is beneficial to our children who are the future of our country, affordable and existing healthcare for everyone, rebuild our infrastructure and make it a functional and becoming a proud country that is inviting for tourism,” she said.
