Bat bunks at Crow briefly

The Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) had a nocturnal visitor make a brief appearance on Friday, 8 November.

The newborn bat, also known as a pup, was brought to the centre by a Bluff resident who found it hanging on a shower curtain. The pup was
transferred on the same day to the Bat Society which specialises in looking after bats.

Crow has received an influx of phone calls from people who would like to participate in Crow’s Sponsor an animal Campaign. Director, Claire Hodgkinson said: “On behalf of CROW and all our patients, we thank the Southlands Sun for promoting our new Sponsor an Animal campaign. We’re delighted to report that since the article appeared on the front page of the newspaper, we’ve had numerous enquiries from the local public and seven new sponsors have already signed up. Our Sponsor an Animal programme is set to make an invaluable contribution to our wildlife rehabilitation efforts and with our busy season well underway, it could not have come at a better time.”
