One suspect apprehended after robbery of a shop on The Bluff

An armed robbery at a shop on The Bluff was interrupted after security companies intervened and managed to arrest one of the five suspects.

ONE of five suspects has been arrested after they stormed a shop on The Bluff and robbed it of its goods yesterday morning (October 8).

How the robbery went down

The five suspects entered the premises around 09:00 and robbed the shop of an undisclosed amount of cigarettes, vapes and cash. Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit, ET Rapid Response and Security Intervention Unit quickly responded to the scene.

As the security arrived, the suspects immediately fled in a vehicle, leaving one suspect behind who tried to escape on foot. The security companies conducted a wide search of the area near the golf course.

“After an extensive search, members successfully apprehended the suspect at the rear of the Bluff Golf Course. Some of the stolen items were also recovered from the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody for further investigation and processing by the relevant authorities,” said Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit in a statement.

The security companies said that collaboration and rapid networking helps combat crime and protect the community.
