Montclair Senior Citizens Club celebrates Christmas’ message

This month Montclair Senior Citizens Club celebrated the coming of Jesus into our world.

THIS month Montclair Senior Citizens Club celebrated the coming of Jesus into our world.

Rev Ansie Liebenberg explained just what that meant, and then opened the meeting in prayer.

Members were privileged to have Roy and Val Smith, Deacon George Beetar and Africa and Greta Khanyile join in. These ministers have all led devotions for the club so they are dearly loved.

Linda handed out packets of chocolates to everyone before Colin shared a joke with members. John van den Bosch won the cot blanket and there were 11 other draws for the other exciting prizes which had been donated.

Naomi expressed everyone’s sympathies for Monica and her husband over the trauma of their hijacking and urged everyone to take extra care. She also passed on the sad news that Yvonne Cross had died. Those with birthdays in December and January were wished a happy day as there is no social meeting in January. However, members were invited to attend the AGM on 16 January, 2014 and nominations for committee members were welcomed.

After a lovely tea and snacks were enjoyed by all, Stainbank WI choir took country and western music as their theme and as usual, were excellent. Thank you to all the women, the club really does enjoy the visits.

All were wished a Blessed Christmas and a happy new year.
