Eight As for badminton ace

KZN’s 2013 sportsman of the year and badminton star, Reneshan Naidoo from the Bluff has taken his success off the court, finishing his matric year as one of the top pupils in KZN.

The 18-year-old completed his final year of school at Durban High School with eight distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, accounting, economics, information technology and mathematics: probability; data handling.

“As a family, we are so proud of him. He had a phenomenal year last year, both sporting wise and at school. There is still so much he has to give and I look forward to watching him grow,” said mother, Nisha Naidoo.

The SA number one ranked junior badminton player leaves KZN this week to study for a degree in actuarial science at the University of Cape Town, just one of the many universities vying to host this prestigious youth. He, will however, continue honing his badminton skills, as he works towards competing at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
