Another round of dance auditions
DUE to the success of its first open dance auditions last week, the non-profit Wentworth and Culture Organisation will hold a second round of auditions for the Dance Movement project on Saturday, 25 January at 9am at 51 Treasure Beach Road at Transhaven Centre in Treasure Beach at 9am.
Youth aged between 5-18 years are invited to go along and learn choreographed routines in hip hop and international styles like street jazz.
“Last weekend’s auditions were great, we had a good response with more children wanting to join, so we decided to hold another round,” said multi-award winning choreographer, Jarryd Watson.
Michael Ogle (13) who joined Dance Movement in 2011 has made a success of his dancing. In 2013, he was selected to travel with a group to BDC in New York, USA. He has also won numerous awards including most improved, most consistent and team player award 2013, for his outstanding commitment to dance. Michael attends Durban Boys’ High School where he received the Seabrook bursary from the school for his dancing efforts.
