‘Ageless Grace’ visits Stainbank WI

The next group meeting will be hosted by Stainbank at our August meeting.

STAINBANK Women’s Institute (WI) president, Arlene Greenfield opened the most recent meeting with the singing of Unity, with all members in good voice.

She welcomed visitors, Linda von der Zon and Diane Slater and executive member, Maureen Lavis.

Maureen arrived to pin badges on Barbara Isley as new group secretary and Arlene Greenfield as vice executive member. Thank you to those members.

Minutes from the last meeting were read and the finance report was given by the treasurer.

There was no correspondence. Shirley Kruger stood in for Donna Chelin, with all the usual jokes and gossip. There was a marvelous response for articles for WI’s own retirement home, Evelyn House which will be taken to Richmond by the executive member.

The next group meeting will be hosted by Stainbank WI at the August meeting. The birthday party will be held during July. The president will be away for the June meeting and the members wish her happy holidays. All celebrating birthdays for the month were wished a happy day. Members had tea and Sue Dennison reminded members that if you could not do tea duty, it is up to them to find a volunteer in their place. Two plates of snacks are to be provided.

After tea, members had the most amazing ‘work out’ by Cherise Shepherd from Ageless Grace. It was a workout although nobody got off their chair. It is so important to keep the mind and body fit and, as she explained and showed as all members joined in, it was not necessary to get off your chair but just 10 to 15 minutes a day is all you need, so keep it up members.

Competition results: Adult ed: First Sue Dennison (again), second Elaine de Jager and Sheila von der Zon, Barbara Ilsley.
