YELLOWWOOD Park Women’s Institute (WI) president, Vanessa Wilesmith welcomed all members to the meeting and bade special welcome to new member, Barbara Christian.
Vanessa said the WI was glad to see Joyce Andrews sharing in the meeting.
Secretary Marsha Hart read out the minutes and Wendy Henderson, treasurer, gave a good financial report that the WI is solvent.
There were no birthdays for the month of June. Vanessa asked for raffles for the monthly draw and also raffles for the birthday party which is soon. Many thanks as always to those members who did duty at the Outspan Residential Home and Botanic Gardens and of course, Meals on Wheels volunteers.
Many thanks to Sharon Quail and her helpers for all the work put into the Kombat Fair, which really was a great success. Wonderful Linda Melson, judge, has offered to go to Congress on the WI’s behalf and all arrangements have been made. Thanks to Maria for taking photos at the hand-over of a donation to Crow.
After tea, members made rabbits from flannels and toilet soap. Some were very good and all will be donated.
