A 21-year old man was arrested for being in possession of 800 straws of heroin and R5,560 in cash.
On Tuesday, 30 September the drug squad at Chatsworth received information of drug dealing in the Westcliffe area. The value of drugs seized has an estimated street value of R16,000. The man appeared in the Chatsworth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 1 October for possession of drugs.
Provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended police for the swift arrest. “We urge members of the community to continue working with police to rid our streets of drugs and our youth need to be educated on the dangers of drug use,” she said.
