A MAN was hijacked at the KFC on the corner of Grimsby and Leicester roads in Mobeni on Wednesday, 5 November.
At about 7.15pm the man, who did not wish to be named, left the KFC after buying food.
He was getting into his Ford Bantam bakkie when he was approached by two armed men. “I was ready to close my door when one of the men told me to get out the car. When I heard the other guy cock his gun, something told me to keep quiet and get out. They even took my sandals,” he said.
The hijackers fled with the man’s company car towards Lamontville.
In another incident, on the same day a woman was hijacked in Glen Road, Montclair at about 7.45pm.
The woman’s VW Polo was idling in her driveway when a metallic blue Hyundai i20 stopped near her house.
Two hijackers ran towards her car and tried to take her key out of the ignition but it broke. The woman showed the hijackers her key had broken and one of the men hit her. Then men fled in the Hyundai i20 and the woman’s car.
