Crèches in nomination run for ECD awards
Nominate worthy ECD practitioners for prestigious award.
ENTRIES are now open for nominations for the annual South African Early Childhood Development Awards.
Those involved in early childhood development (ECD) may nominate themselves or others for best ECD centre, ECD practitioner, programme for children with disabilities, ECD trainer, non-centre based programme or publication.
Following the nominations, there will be adjudication and verification site visits, then the provincial award ceremonies. From these winners, there will be a national award ceremony in March 2016.
Local groups are urged to enter alongside last year’s second place winners in KZN in the best ECD centre category, Wentworth’s Little David Educare.
Hosted by the National Development Agency (NDA) in partnership with the SA Congress for Early Childhood Development (SACECD), UNICEF, and SABC Education and the departments of social development, basic education and health, the awards offer cash prizes and developmental or scholarships opportunities.
Entries close on 30 September and are available at NDA centres, SACECD offices and the national department of social development and UNICEF websites.
