REPORTS of dead fish in a Prospecton lagoon saw Clairwood municipal officials mobilised on Wednesday, 9 March.
eThekwini Municipality dispatched their environmental health unit late on Wednesday night when the incident was reported.
They had been told people were collecting the fish and raised concerns of health hazards if they were consumed. A strong advisory has been issued against eating the dead fish or purchasing fish from unknown traders in the area.
At this stage, the cause of the fish kill is not known.
