Water cut possible as The Bluff reservoir is cleaned
Ward 66 councillor Zoë Solomon said additional water supply has been arranged to assist residents in all affected areas.
RESIDENTS of Ward 66 are being warned of a possible water supply interruption while Reservoir 1 on The Bluff undergoes cleaning.
Some areas may experience water shortages during the cleaning process.
Ward 66 councillor Zoë Solomon said cleaning a reservoir involves removing algae, sediment and other build-up from the walls and floors, followed by thorough cleaning, disinfection and water quality checks.

“Depending on the work required, the reservoir may need to be drained before cleaning can begin. Once completed, the reservoir must be refilled, and water pressure needs time to build up throughout the network. This means some areas may receive water before others,” she said.
These procedures are necessary to ensure that the water supplied to our homes is safe.
Additional water supply arranged for affected areas
Solomon said, “I have arranged for private water supply to come to the Bluff early this evening to assist residents in all affected areas while repairs and maintenance continue.”
She added that further details on distribution will be shared as arrangements are confirmed.
“I understand the frustration and inconvenience these interruptions cause and thank residents for their patience,” said Solomon.
