TV repair shop ‘customers’ rob Clairwood businessman

A businessman was robbed of cash and his cellphone by men who posed as customers

A CLAIRWOOD businessman was robbed of cash and his cellphone by men who posed as customers on Tuesday, 23 January.
At about 2pm the man was busy in his TV repair shop in from South Coast Road when three unknown men entered, wearing blue overalls.

They requested to exchange a TV because theirs was not working. He told them to return after two hours so that he could source an alternative for them.
“They returned at 4pm without the TV to exchange,” said Montclair SAPS communications officer, Capt Dereck Vijiam.
One of the men suddenly drew his firearm and demanded cash and cellphones from the shop owner, before they fled.
