Botanical Society of South Africa KZN Coastal branch presents an illustrated talk by Nick Evans on the chameleons of KZN on Monday 25th

TUESDAY, 12 MARCH: Montwood Senior Citizens Care Centre hosts a social meeting every Tuesday from 9am to noon at 199 Kenyon Howden Road, Tray Bang Hall. A two-course lunch and refreshments are available for R25. Bingo is on the last Tuesday of each month. All seniors over 55 are welcome to join.
WEDNESDAY, 13 MARCH: Birdlife Port Natal hosts an indoor meeting at the Westville Methodist Church at 7pm. Andrew Pickles will do a talk on ‘ringing on the Umzumbe floodplain’. Call Lesley on 083-231-3408.
THURSDAY, 14 MARCH: South African Military History Society meets at the Murray Theatre, first floor Civil Engineering building, UKZN Howard College campus at 7pm for 7.30pm. The first talk, the DDH will be ‘update on the search for the kitty hawk crash site at Umkomaas’ to be presented by Donald Davies. The main talk will be presented by Clive Wilsworth, who will tell about ‘the key to Jerusalem – the South African field artillery brigade in Palestine 1917/18’. THURSDAY, 14 MARCH: Montclair Senior Citizens Club meets in the Methodist Church hall at 9am for 9.30am. All seniors in the area are welcome to join in for a morning’s entertainment. Refreshment cost is R5 and raffle tickets available at R1 each. Members are reminded subs of R35 are due and lunch cost is R60 if attending.

SUNDAY, 17 MARCH: Wentworth Bowling Club hosts St Patrick’s Day fun bowls on the bowling green at 1.30pm. There will be raffles, games, music, green Irish specials in the bar and a prize for the best dressed. Wear green for luck. Fun for the whole family.
SUNDAY, 17 MARCH: Every Sunday, the Visually Impaired Bowlers Association has its weekly bowling afternoon at Berea Bowling Club in Durban from 1pm to 4pm. Blind and partially sighted people who are prepared to join this association can look forward to an afternoon of fun and fellowship playing bowls. MONDAY, 25 MARCH: Botanical Society of South Africa KZN Coastal branch presents an illustrated talk by Nick Evans on the chameleons of KZN at the Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre, John Zikhali Road (ex-Sydenham Road) at 5.30pm for 6pm. Popular snake rescuer Nick Evans of KZN Amphibian and Reptile Conservation will tell about the mysterious and fascinating life of the chameleon. The various species found in KZN, behaviour, threats to their survival, and how to attract them to your garden, will be addressed. Nick will show a couple of live specimens too. Nick’s new book ‘Life of a Snake Rescuer’ will be available. Entrance including teas at the start is R35 for members, R55 for non-members and R25 for students. No need to book. THURSDAY, 28 MARCH: Fynnland Combined Sports Club AGM takes place at the club at 7pm. Make every effort to attend as it cannot take place unless a quorum is reached. It won’t be a long meeting and will give you the opportunity to hear the exciting plans for the club’s future.
SATURDAY, 30 MARCH: Harlequins Cricket Club hosts a family fun day at the cricket fields off Garcin Place, Bluff from 10am followed by an awards allocation for all teams.
SATURDAY, 6 APRIL: SAPS Montclair and CPF hosts its crime awareness day at Ramblers soccer field from 8am to 4pm. There will be police displays, entertainment and stalls for a fleamarket.
