THURSDAY, 13 JUNE: Natalia Garden Club’s next meeting takes place at the Pigeon Club hall in Tara Road, Bluff at 9.30am. Jeanne Buitendag will present a talk on planting in a tyre. The decorative competition is entitled a small flower arrangement 15cm in height and width and the cultural competition is a mother-in-law’s tongue leaf besides the usual monthly competitions of the best bloom or spray from my garden, best orchid and best pot plant. THURSDAY, 13 JUNE: Montclair Senior Citizens Club meeting held in the Montclair Methodist Church hall at 9am for 9.30am. All seniors in the area are welcome to come along for a fun morning. Refreshment cost is R5 and raffle tickets are available at R1 each.
THURSDAY, 13 JUNE TO SATURDAY, 15 JUNE: The Whisky and Gin Live Celebration takes place at Suncoast Globe from 5pm to 9pm. The all new gin flavours will for the first time make an appearance at the Whisky and Gin Live Celebrations that will appeal to the gin lover and whisky connoisseur. There will also be live entertainment from various performers, trendy food trucks, social areas and a more open layout make this new refreshed event a must-experience. SATURDAY, 15 JUNE: The Bluff Eco Park hosts a craft market every Saturday from 7am to 1pm. Entry is free and there is a tea garden where one can indulge on tasty snacks and refreshments. Children can enjoy a ride on the train. For more information, call Allan on 073-345-4622.
SATURDAY, 15 JUNE: Durban and Coastal Branch of the Genealogical Society of SA hosts a meeting at the Family History Centre, Church of the Latter Day Saints, Montgomery Lane (off Silverton Road), Musgrave at 2pm. Duncan du Bois will speak about ‘The 170th Anniversary of the Byrne Settlers’. A booklet on The Byrne Settlers will be available for purchase, as well as Duncan’s book on The History of the Bluff. TUESDAY, 18 JUNE TO THURSDAY, 20 JUNE: Play Fair Sports Development will host a soccer clinic at the Ogle Road Wentworth Grounds, from 9am to noon. The initiative is open to boys and girls between the ages of five and 15 years-old. Registration is at 8am and clinic fee is R150 per child. SATURDAY, 29 JUNE: Clairwood Roots Reunion Committee will host its fifth year celebration, ‘the last of the big bash’ at the Clairwood High School grounds starting at 1pm until late.
SATURDAY, 29 JUNE: Sodurba hosts the 2019 Welcoming of the Whales Festival at Foreshore Drive, Bluff from 9am to 4pm. This is a fun event for the whole family with free entry.
