Phyllis is queen of the greens
There are two men’s singles matches scheduled for this Wednesday afternoon, 26 June
PHYLLIS Maritz is the Bluff Bowling Club’s women’s open singles champion for 2019.
Phyllis defeated Janice Rogers in a tight match by 21 shots to 18 and will now go on to represent the club in Port Natal champion of champions competition later in the year. On the league front the women’s first division side lost out to Stella by three points to two, but this result was good enough for them to avoid relegation and will keep their first division status next year.
The men’s A side were not so fortunate and were beaten five points to two at home to Lahee Park and will contest in the second division next season. The men’s B side on the other hand had a tremendous season culminating in securing the fourth division championship and gaining promotion to the next league. Well done to all who represented the club in this league.
