Three busted for Wentworth shooting
All three suspects, aged between 21 and 27, were charged with attempted murder, possession of a stolen vehicle as well as illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
FOLLOWING a tip off from community members, Wentworth police officers responded to reports of a shooting incident where two victims sustained gunshot wounds at Goedehoop Street on Thursday, 12 September.
A description of the suspects and vehicle used was given to the police. Investigations led officers to Treasure Beach where they spotted the suspected vehicle in a parking lot with three men.

“The vehicle was approached and searched and an unlicensed firearm and ammunition were seized. The suspects were linked to the shooting incident that had been reported at Goedehoop Street. Investigations uncovered that the vehicle used by the suspects was stolen in the Sydenham policing precinct last month. The firearm was also reported as stolen in Sydenham,” said KZN police spokesperson, Lt Col Thulani Zwane.

All three suspects, aged between 21 and 27, were charged with attempted murder, possession of a stolen vehicle as well as illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. The arrested suspects are due to appear in the Wentworth Magistrates Court.
