VIDEO: Teens wow audience with incredible talent at weekend festival

The inclement weather did not dampen the spirits of the young performers.

THE ADAGE the show must go on aptly encapsulates the weekend festival.

After all the sweat local teen talents, KAS-1, put in in preparation for their debut performance at The OUT 500 – Music and Comedy Festival, the weather was their biggest let-down.

Even though the torrents had organisers scrambling for an indoor change of venue, in true show-biz fashion, the show indeed went on. With an even smaller-scaled audience so as to maintain all Covid-19 protocol.

“Unfortunately the weather did not play its part. It was really horrible out there, there were some major storms and flooding. So, they had to scale it down and take the event indoors, which put a lot of pressure on us to get the stage, sound, and everything going,” said proud dad, Jacques Stephens.

“But, at the end of the day, the show still went on. Although it was with a smaller crowd because a lot of people had to cancel. At the end of the day, what a show! It was absolutely amazing. The girls did us so proud.

“Bands like The Black Lapels, Sonofold, and even the lead singer from Perez all went crazy over the girls’ performances. A member from Prime Circle was there and loved Kirsty-Anne to bits. All the big names absolutely adored the girls,” added Stephens.
