Snake City crew captivates guests at Crow

Self-confessed snake lovers, Simon Keys and his partner, Siouxsie Gillett donated their time to educate and share their expertise on reptiles in a fun-filled presentation and meet and greet at Crow on Sunday, 22 November.

IT was a slithery affair at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) when the famous Snake City crew paid a visit.

Self-confessed snake lovers, Simon Keys and his partner, Siouxsie Gillett donated their time to educate and share their expertise on reptiles in a fun-filled presentation and meet and greet on Sunday, 22 November. This fun initiative, which accommodated 50 guests, was part of a fundraiser for Crow where ticket sales and proceeds went towards the work done by the wildlife rehabilitation centre.

Snake City (also known as Snakes in the City) is a wildlife documentary television series that stars snake-catchers. The show follows this reptile-wrangling couple who respond to the desperate calls of terrified residents who have encountered slithery serpents. “It was a very successful day and we were completely booked out within a few days. We even had people queuing at the gate wanting to attend. The children were really thrilled to meet their heroes. It was so amazing to see so many people enjoy the show and interact with the brown house snake and an iguana brought by Simon and Siouxsie,” said Crow communications officer, Alex Kogl.

There are still a few autographed calendars by Simon and Siouxsie available. To purchase contact Crow on 031 462 1127.
