Former Bluff Bowling Club president to emigrate
This month is dedicated to saying farewell to Gary Moffat, and his wife Lila, who are emigrating to Ireland.
AFTER months of uncertainty, the Bluff Bowling Club (BBC) is on its way to some sort of normality.
On Sunday, 14 February, the club started off with the Wolf Electrical breakfast any pairs competition which was won by Johann and Brian Smith from Wentworth.
The second prize went to Gary Moffat and Ryan Warren, the second session prize was won by Greg Dorrofield and Deon Els. A number of last year’s club competitions have also been finalised.
On the women’s side, Elize Stapelberg beat Bridget White to win the open singles, while Glynis Mackrory won the veteran singles.
In the semifinals of the point singles, Sarie Bisset beat Louise du Plessis, who now goes on to play Bridget White in the finals.
The men’s nominated pairs final was won by Gary Moffat and Deon Els. Sunday, 21 February will see any pairs monthly competition.
This month is dedicated to saying farewell to BBC’s former president, Gary Moffat, and his wife Lila, who are emigrating to Ireland.
The morning will be followed by a bring and braai. The club will supply the salads. The annual men’s tournament that would normally be held on the first weekend in March has been postponed until 8 and 9 May.
Invitations are being sent out to last year’s participants.
