He was often the first member of the MCC to arrive at clean-ups and the last man to leave.

He leaves behind a his wife, a daughter, sisters, nieces and nephews. Hailed as a community worker who wore his heart on his sleeve, Govender was the first man on the MCC to arrive at clean-ups and the last man to leave.

He cared for the environment and for the poor and needy, often giving financially. He was also a member of many other civic committees in Merebank and a true leader who led by example as a silent and selfless individual.

He gave up his time to support any demonstration on behalf of the community. Fellow members of the MCC said they will miss this true and humble servant, who served with love and passion. “May his soul rest in peace,” they said.

Govender’s daughter, Sesha, thanked everybody for their blessings, prayers, love, kindness and thoughtful gestures during this difficult time for her family.

“Bhagawan Shree Sathya Sai Baba says there is only one language the language of the heart there is only one religion the religion of love. My dad practiced all the teachings of Swami and mastered them to perfection.”

“He was a person whose actions spoke for themselves and did everything from his heart. I most certainly enjoyed every moment. My dad made sure that his family is taken care of.”

“He will live in me eternally. I am happy because I understand that he is happy. I am thankful to the almighty God for giving us this opportunity of being in his loving presence and growing with him. God bless us all forever powerful in the Lord’s divine path. Aum Sai Ram,” she said.
