Wentworth Warriors FC dominate at friendly matches

The Warriors' coach, Carl Webster said the friendly games were preparation for the upcoming season.

JUNIOR soccer players kick-started their day on Saturday, September 4, with very spirited matches.

Held at Ogle Road Grounds in Wentworth, the various teams were excited for the opportunity to be out on the field again.

Wentworth Warriors FC, Verity Montclair FC, Inter United FC, and Blackpool FC were the contending teams on the day who each played with a lot of enthusiasm.

The Warriors’ coach, Carl Webster said the friendly games were preparation for the upcoming season.

“We played some training matches on the day. We were also Covid compliant as we had no spectators, it was just the players.”

“We wanted them to get the opportunity to play because of all the restrictions we have all the time, they no longer get a chance to play anymore. We played against a team from Umlazi and Montclair. The age categories were U11, U13 and U15. These matches are for the season that’s ahead,” he said.

The final scores:

1. Warriors FC U10 (2) vs Verity Montclair FC U11 (0)

2. Warriors FC U11 (3) vs Inter United FC (0)

3. Warriors FC U13 (4) vs Blackpool FC (0)
