Brighton Beach police are investigating a case of attempted murder following an altercation in Clairwood.

Brighton Beach police are investigating a case of attempted murder following an altercation in Clairwood.

It is alleged that on Wednesday morning, October 6 the complainant with his passenger was travelling along Archery Road opposite Unitrans Supply Chain Solutions when a white van, Mitsubishi Colt, was approaching his vehicle as he was proceeding from Horsham Road on the left side and moved in front of his truck to turn right.

“The complainant allegedly confronted the driver of the white van through his window and asked why he was driving in the manner he did. Upon which the occupants of the van became verbally abusive towards the complainant.

“The passenger of the white van then jumped out the vehicle and a firearm was produced and pointed at the complainant upon which two rounds were discharged penetrating the driver’s door, injuring the complainant in his left and right thighs. The white van then sped off,” explained Brighton Beach SAPS communications officer, Captain Louise le Roux.

Brighton Beach Detective Services are investigating a case of attempted murder and informers have been activated.
