UPDATE: ADeC ward candidate shown the door pending sexual offence investigation
The case opened at Wentworth SAPS, comes after voice notes were circulated on social media.
THE African Democratic for Change (ADeC) has ousted its ward 68 candidate in the forthcoming elections.
This was confirmed by Eric Kistensamy, chairperson of ADeC in the eThekwini Region following voicenotes that circulated social media that implicated one of their candidates in a child sex scandal.
Kistensamy said the party had been made aware of the voicenotes and suspended the candidate in question earlier in the week, awaiting the outcome of an investigation by SAPS as well as an internal inquiry. However, by Thursday, October 7 the party dismissed the accused who is facing charges of a case of conspiracy to commit rape.

“Two people were heard conspiring to commit rape on three minors. The docket was transferred to Brighton Beach FCS Unit for further investigation,” said provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele.
It is alleged that the man, known to the SUN, is accused of asking a woman to arrange young children for him to have sexual relations with. In screenshots and voice notes, he and another woman allegedly arranged to have sex with a six, nine and 16-year-old.
The SUN reached out to the accused, however, no responses were received at the time of publication.
