Trick or treat adeventures come to the Bluff
The free event will take on a themed street style experience where residents will pitch up their Halloween decorations and stalls.
BE sure to holler ‘trick or treat’ as Charlene Grobler together with her family bring the Halloween tradition to the Bluff on Friday, October 29.
The free event will take on a themed street style experience where residents will pitch up their Halloween decorations, stalls or tables with candy and treats available for children to collect and fill their bags or buckets.
The main streets will be Keston Crescent, Thomas Bower, Beachcroft Avenue and Yardley Avenue.
“These streets participants will pitch their candy tables outside their gardens not to disturb any animals. However, the invite is open to anyone who wants to take part and pitch their table in the area or just enjoy the festivities.
“I came up with the idea and the children loved it. We’ve been to a few tricks or treat events including the one in Glenwood that was absolutely amazing. With Halloween coming up again we thought why not bring something similar to our neighbourhood. We’ve shared it with our neighbours and on our different Whatsapp groups and we have good feedback from the community. The councillor has given us the go-ahead and the local security companies are also on board and will patrol the streets throughout the event.
“This is a new thing for the Bluff and a lot of people are very excited. It is purely for fun and a great way to get the young and old to socialise, dress up and stretch their feet after being cooped up in the house during the lockdown. Due to Covid-19 rules, no one will enter any house. I will be providing sanitisers for all the tables involved and masks are required to be worn at all times.
Ghostly greetings will commence at 19:00 and end at 22:00. Covid-19 compliance will be in place. An appeal is made for sweet donations for the children’s treats. For more information contact Charlene on 079 980 9934.
