ALERT: City warns of individuals defrauding the public
Municipal jobs, tenders and other services are not for sale.
THE city alerts the public of unscrupulous individuals using the names of senior municipal officials to defraud members of the public.
“They promise jobs, tenders and other benefits or services and then solicit bribes, claiming that the bribes are being asked for by senior Municipal officials,” said eThekwini Municipality spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela.
Municipal jobs, tenders and other services are not for sale. Members of the public should never pay for these.
The municipality calls on anyone who has been defrauded in this manner to report the matter to the City Integrity and Investigations Unit on 0800 202 020 or via email to ombuds@durban.gov.za.
