Motivational speaker to empower residents at Merebank seminar

AS WITH many things, the pandemic has disrupted normal everyday life. While some are now jobless, others are altogether hopeless with bleak futures. It is because of this despair that a motivational speaker offers an empowerment session to the public.

Member of the Peacemakers International and Marriage Enrich, Pastor Manny Dasappa will be one of the speakers at the Merebank Community Hall on Saturday, February 12.

The event is aimed at empowering the community with practical coping skills, offers an expansion to thinking capacities through creativity and out of the box.

“In addition, we aim to demonstrate the power of association with influential and successful people who can mentor and motivate them to become the best version of themselves,” said the Merebank resident.

Intended to be a once-off seminar on Tuesday, December 6, 2021, the overwhelming response of excitement and enthusiasm was astounding, he said.

“People said we imparted profound knowledge and wisdom. They said they were impressed with the simplicity, practicality and relevancy of the content of our presentation.

“We realised that they had a need and we had the necessary tools and resources to help them. The theme is be the best version of yourself, I use success stories of people who rose above their difficult circumstances by adopting a positive mindset and moving into a space where they mingled with influential and successful people. In addition, I share my own experiences,” he said.

As a child, Dasappa was a stutterer, introverted and had low self-esteem. At the age of 22, he was stutter-free and focused his time and energy on upskilling himself by association, changing his mindset and daring to think out of the box.

He has been an educator for 27 years and a church pastor for 25 years. He majored in Psychology and has a Unisa certificate in Peace and Mediation.

“Both myself and international motivational speaker, Nelson Reddy, emphasise emphatically that becoming the best version is not reserved for a selected group of people, but it is every one of us.

“It is within our reach and easily accessible if we have a burning desire and determination. Our simple, interesting, focused and practical approach in upskilling oneself is doable and can be shared with others,” he said.

Entry is free, however, booking is compulsory as seats are limited. The Merebank Community Hall is on 2 Krishna Rabilal Road. The event will be held on Saturday, February 12. Guests are advised to arrive at 08:30 for 09:00, the event will end at 17:00.
