Triple murder suspect arrested in Bluff hide-out
Firearms, ammunition and drugs were also seized during the operation.
A 20-YEAR-OLD man wanted for a triple murder in Newlands East and two other men were arrested after police swooped in on the men in a house used as a hide-out for drugs, firearms and ammunition in Bluff.
The three men, all aged 20, were arrested on October 11 and were found in possession of three 9mm pistols, one 38 revolver, and a double-barrel shotgun which were recovered with a large quantity of ammunition. One hundred and ninety pieces of rock cocaine and two police scanners were also seized during the operation that was set up by the eThekwini District Operational Task Team, comprising Brighton Beach detectives and security officers.
Two of the men were charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and possession of drugs.
Both suspects are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
eThekwini district commissioner General MV Kheswa commended the joint efforts by SAPS and partners in policing.
“The operation eradicated serious criminal offenders in our communities as well as removed drugs and illegal firearms. This is excellent work by all involved,” added Kheswa.
