Shoot-out in Wentworth leaves driver grazed by bullet

An unknown gunman opened fire on a group of men exiting their vehicle in the late hours of Wednesday evening.

A SHOOTING took place in Wentworth during the late hours of Wednesday evening (May 8).

Dhevan Govindasamy, PT Tactical spokesperson, said they responded to a shooting in Olive Grove. He said five males were exiting their vehicle before an unknown gunman opened fire in the vicinity of their vehicle. Govindasamy added, “Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities – the driver was only grazed by a bullet.”

“Numerous 9mm and rifle shells were found on the opposite side of the vehicle, and the vehicle was riddled with bulletholes,” said Govindasamy.

The Wentworth Police Station were notified, and officers were present at the scene.
