Wentworth car crash claims driver’s life

A man believed to be in his sixties collided with a residential wall in Wentworth and shortly thereafter the man died.

A MAN, believed to be in his sixties, died on Thursday evening (December 5) in a single-vehicle collision on Quality Street, just before Tara Road.

Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, said emergency services were alerted about an accident shortly after 22:00. Jamieson said they arrived on scene, where It is believed that the driver had lost control before colliding into a residential wall.

“Paramedics found the driver in a critical condition. Shortly after the arrival of paramedics the patient went into cardiac arrest and despite Advanced Life Support paramedics’ best efforts to resuscitate him, he died on scene due to his injuries,” said Jamieson. 

It is not yet clear what led to the accident but Wentworth police were present at the scene and an investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched.
