Crow calls on community to help with baby season

Crow is seeking donations of picnic baskets from the community as baby season is in full swing and they are tending to between 15 to 20 birds a day.

THE Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) has issued an urgent call for donations of pet baskets as the baby season reaches its peak. The organisation is currently admitting between 15 to 20 baby birds per day.

Clint Halkett-Siddall, director at Crow, said the need is dire. “Baby season is in full swing here at Crow, and we are in dire need of pet baskets to house baby birds and small mammals safely. Your donation will go a long way toward giving these little feathered friends a safe start,” he said.

Based in Yellowwood Park, Crow is appealing to the community to either sponsor or donate money towards buying pet baskets. The baskets are R120 each, and any donation will go a long way in continuing the work the organisation is doing in rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife.

Those willing to assist can make a payment into Crow’s bank account:

  • First National Bank
  • Account number: 50770230859
  • Branch code: 221426
  • Reference: “pet baskets and your name.”
