Stage 4 cancer patient needs funds for treatment

Caitlyn Micholson, whose condition has worsened in her battle with stage 4 metastatic melanoma, needs the community's help to boost her fundraising efforts.

THE Bluff community is once more being called upon to rally behind Caitlyn Micholson, who is in a critical condition battling stage 4 metastatic melanoma. Her situation has gotten a lot worse, and her family is now in dire need of funds to cover her growing medical and home care expenses.

Micholson is now in need of daily nursing care, as well as necessary medications, pain-relief products, specialty foods and transport fees to and from the hospital. Her condition also necessitates a humidifier that operates 24/7 to assist with her breathing, an added cost that is placing further burdens on the finances.

Lisa Micholson, Caitie’s aunt, has issued a sincere appeal to the community: “Just a small donation of R50 can help our Caitie. I challenge small business owners to please get Caitie’s story out there and if possible to donate something towards Caitie’s fight against cancer. She needs immunotherapy and the first session costs R80 000. Let’s try to get Caitie this first session and see the miraculous effects this immunotherapy will have on Caitie,” she said.
