M4 Northbound closed for recovery after truck crash

A truck lost its container on the M4 Northbound, resulting in the road being closed in order for recovery to take place.

THE M4 Southern freeway Durban bound has been closed due to a major truck crash, where the driver allegedly lost control of the truck before jackknifing across the northbound freeway this afternoon (February 8).

Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics spokesperson, said that the incident took place between Edwin Swales Drive and Moore Road.

“The driver has sustained no injuries, however motorists are advised to avoid this area and seek alternative routes,” said Jamieson.

The vehicle removal is expected to take a while.
