M4 truck accident causes delays
A truck lost its container on the M7, causing it to overturn onto the road. The estimated recovery time could be three to four hours.
MOTORISTS are advised to use alternative routes after a truck lost its container on the M7 at the M4 onramp at approximately 02:00 today (April 23) and forced the closure of Recreation Road. The truck was transporting a shipping container when it shifted and toppled onto the road.

Shaun Venter for Retaliate Group (RLT8 Bluff), who is in contact with Black Tar Towing, said the container has been removed from the scene and the road is expected to be open in the next 15 to 20 minutes.
“The left lane approaching Recreation Road is closed, however, the middle and right lanes are open to Rossburgh but expect bottle necking and delays. You will not be able to access the M4 via The Bluff or Rossburgh as it is closed for the recovery. Black Tar Towing is currently on scene and has started the recovery,” he said.
